The closest airport is Faro which is just about an hour drive to Praia da Luz along the new motorway which extends from Faro to beyond Lagos. Faro is well served by scheduled and charter airlines, including BA, TAP, Easyjet, Monarch, BMI, My Time etc.

Car hire can be booked for collection at Faro or Lisbon airport.We act as agents for an excellent Algarve car hire firm which is reliable and rents cars at very reasonable prices. They give guests a very good service-we use them ourselves and have received positive feedback from our guests on their service.They offer the benefit of having the car that you have ordered ready for you to collect at the airport itself and not at an off airport depost a mini-bus ride away as with many other car-hire firms locally. Likewise at the end of the holiday you return the car to the airport car-park. There is of course the option to drive to the Algarve either from Northern France via Dover/Calais or one of the Brittany ports, or take the ferry to Northern Spain (Santander) and drive from there. It is a long drive either way, but if you have the time and enjoy independant travelling it can be great fun!
